A knock over speed bumps or a loose feel in turns often points to worn front sway bar links, control arm bushings or strut mounts on the Outlander, Outlander Sport and Eclipse Cross. The 2.0L and 2.4L four-cylinder engines found in many Mitsubishi models can develop oil seepage from the valve cover gasket, spark plug tube seals or timing cover as they age, often noticed as a burning oil smell or residue around the engine. We clean and dye-trace the leak to its true source, then reseal it so the problem does not return.
The three-cylinder Mirage is known for some vibration by design, but excessive shaking at idle, a clunk when shifting into gear or a buzz through the steering wheel can mean a worn engine or transmission mount. Larger models can show the same symptoms at higher mileage. We inspect mount condition under load and replace failed mounts to restore a smooth, quiet ride.
A check engine light on a Mitsubishi frequently traces to the evaporative emissions system, such as a sticking purge valve, a leaking hose or a worn gas cap seal, or to aging oxygen sensors and ignition coils. We read manufacturer-specific codes and live data with dealer-level scan tools, smoke-test the EVAP system when needed and fix the root cause so your car passes California smog.
Weak or warm air from the vents is a common complaint on Outlander and Outlander Sport models, especially in summer heat. Causes include compressor or clutch wear, a leaking or damaged condenser and low refrigerant from slow leaks. We pressure-test the system, use dye or electronic leak detection, repair the actual failure and recharge to specification instead of simply topping it off.
Older Mitsubishi V6 engines, including the 3.0L in earlier Outlanders and the 3.8L in the Endeavor and Galant, use a timing belt rather than a chain. These are interference engines, so a snapped belt can cause serious internal damage. Replacement intervals vary by model/engine, typically around 60,000 to 100,000 miles. We replace the belt with the tensioner, idlers and usually the water pump.
