Expert Audi maintenance and repair from ASE-certified technicians at ExperTec Automotive Huntington Beach.

Huntington Beach Audi owners know the routine: PCH on the weekend, the 405 on weekdays and a fine layer of sand on everything. ExperTec Automotive, at 7680 Talbert Ave near Gothard, keeps local Q3, Q5, A4, S4 and e-tron models looking after their drivers instead of the other way around.
Coastal salt air accelerates corrosion on brake hardware, suspension bolts and electrical connectors, while beach traffic means plenty of stop-and-go miles for direct-injection engines. Our ASE-certified team inspects for both, keeps your service display on track and explains each recommendation before any work begins.
With dealer-level scan tools, OEM-quality parts and a 3-year/36,000-mile nationwide warranty, we offer dealership-level care for less hassle. Thirty-plus years in Orange County and 10 consecutive years as OC’s best auto repair stand behind every job, from Bella Terra commuters to Huntington Central Park weekenders.
Audi uses fixed time-and-distance service intervals tracked by the service interval display in the instrument cluster. For most recent US models, an oil change and inspection is due about every 10,000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes first, with additional items added at longer milestones, such as cabin and engine air filters, spark plugs and S tronic or automatic transmission fluid where specified, plus brake fluid every two years regardless of mileage. Turbocharged direct-injection engines are sensitive to oil quality, so we use oil meeting the correct VW specification for your engine (such as 502 00, 504 00 or 508 00) and reset the display after every service.
Upon completion of the standard maintenance tasks we provide an additional 30-point inspection to make sure that all components in your Audi are up to date and working well.

At ExperTec Automotive, we’ve been repairing Audi vehicles in Orange County for over 30 years. Even well-built Audi models develop specific problems as they age, and PCH beach traffic, 405 commutes and salt air add to the wear. Our Huntington Beach technicians diagnose these issues quickly, follow Audi factory repair procedures and use quality parts you can trust.
Oil leaks from valve cover gaskets, camshaft adjuster seals and timing covers are common as Audis age, especially on the supercharged 3.0T V6 and 2.0T four-cylinder. Leaking oil can drip onto exhaust parts, causing burning smells or smoke. We clean and dye-trace the leak to its true source, then replace the gasket or seal rather than guessing at the most obvious part.
Dual-clutch S tronic transmissions can develop shudder, harsh engagement or mechatronic faults, and many depend on regular fluid service. Older front-drive A4 and A6 models with the Multitronic CVT are known for shudder and failure. We scan transmission modules, check fluid condition, perform clutch and mechatronic adaptations with dealer-level tools and recommend the right service or repair.
Audi’s direct-injection FSI and TFSI engines, including the 2.0T and 3.0T, spray fuel straight into the cylinder, so nothing washes deposits off the intake valves. Over time, carbon can cause rough idle, cold-start misfires and lost power, varying by model/engine and driving habits. We confirm buildup with misfire data and a borescope, then clean the valves with media blasting and reset fuel trims.
Many roughly 2009 to 2012 Audis with the 2.0T engine, including A4, A5 and Q5 models, became known for excessive oil consumption caused by piston ring design. Owners may add a quart every 1,000 to 2,000 miles or see oil warnings between services. We run a monitored consumption test, inspect spark plugs and compression, and explain repair options from rings to related PCV fixes.
A failed PCV valve or oil separator is a common Audi problem on 2.0T and 3.0T engines. Symptoms include a whistling or howling noise at idle, rough running, lean codes, oil leaks from pressurized seals and higher oil consumption. We smoke-test and pressure-check the crankcase, confirm the failure with live data and replace the separator or PCV assembly with an updated part.
Misfires from failing ignition coils or worn plugs are among the most frequent reasons an Audi check engine light comes on, especially on turbocharged engines that work plugs hard. You may feel stumbling, shaking or reduced power. We read misfire counters per cylinder, swap-test coils to confirm the fault and replace plugs and coils with the correct heat range and specification.

On direct-injection Audi engines, carbon buildup on the intake valves is a common cause of rough idle and misfires as mileage climbs. We only recommend cleaning when symptoms or a borescope inspection confirm significant buildup, not on a fixed schedule.
