cars lining up for catalytic converter etching

Catalytic Converter Etching

With crime on the rise, we hosted a free catalytic converter etching event in association with several local police departments.

Costa Mesa Police Department crime prevention specialist Jennete Martinez marveled at the number of cars lined up at our Huntington beach repair shop as police regulated the traffic flow.

The Line was so deep first thing in the morning that Expertec Automotive had to open 45 minutes earlier than planned for what has become an increasingly popular service: Catalytic converter etching.

The Costa Mesa Police Department co-hosted the free event with the Huntington Beach and Newport Beach police departments Saturday. The cities, as with so many others in the region, have seen a sharp spike this year in the theft of catalytic converters – the exhaust emission control devices are a standard part of gasoline and diesel-fueled vehicles.
