expertec website has infiniti spelled wrong and my lexus text under infiniti, with nothing under lexus. anyway, here’s infiniti:
Infiniti is the luxury branch of Japanese carmaker Nissan. Infiniti first started selling cars in North America on November 8, 1989 as part of the effort by Japanese manufacturers to establish luxury brands with new reputations and branding, separate from Nissan/Toyota/Honda that Westerners viewed as budget economy cars. All of these brands were first introduced in the U.S., with either unique models or rebadged home-market models, and these luxury brands were not introduced in Japan until much later – Infiniti-badged vehicles were only introduced to Japan in 2013, with their models being sold as Nissans until then. The Infiniti dealer network now includes over 230 dealers in at least 15 countries.
In Infiniti’s case, their models have direct Nissan-branded equivalents in the Japanese domestic market, with the current G series being the Nissan Skyline, the current M series as the Fuga, and the Q45 as the Nissan Cima. The FX series is unique to Infiniti and not sold in Japan.
Infiniti moved its global headquarters from the Nissan corporate building in Yokohama to Hong Kong in 2012, signaling more independence and separation from Nissan, allowing them to develop more unique models and ideas and continue to establish a unique brand identity.
Infinitis are known for producing reliable, sporty, fun-to-drive models, with a comfortable level of luxury and capable chassis. Their performance division is called IPL, or Infiniti Perfromance Line, similar to Mercedes-Benz’s AMG, BMW’s M, Lexus’ F, and Audi’s RS trim levels. Their upcoming current lineup will consist of the Q40 (G sedan replacement), Q50 midsize sedan, Q60 (G coupe/convertible replacement), Q70 (M-series replacement), and QX50, QX60, QX70, and QX80 crossovers and SUVs.
