Expert BMW maintenance and repair from ASE-certified technicians at ExperTec Automotive Anaheim.

The Ultimate Driving Machine does not love Anaheim traffic in August. Hours of crawling on the 5 and 57 under inland summer heat push BMW cooling systems, with their plastic expansion tanks, electric water pumps and thermostats, harder than any canyon road would.
ExperTec Automotive on W. Lincoln Ave in Downtown Anaheim works on the BMWs that keep this city moving: X3 and X5 SUVs heading to the Disneyland Resort, 3 Series and 4 Series commuters and the occasional M car near Angel Stadium on game night. Our ASE-certified technicians diagnose with dealer-level software, so we find the real fault instead of throwing parts at it.
We use OEM-quality parts, back the work with a 3-year/36,000-mile nationwide warranty and bring more than 30 years of Orange County experience to every repair.
BMW uses Condition Based Service (CBS), which tracks engine oil, brake pads, brake fluid, spark plugs, filters and vehicle checks individually and shows the remaining distance or time for each in iDrive or the instrument cluster. Rather than one fixed interval, oil changes often come up around 10,000 miles or once a year and brake fluid every two years, with plugs and filters at longer intervals, all varying by model/engine and how the car is driven. Many owners of turbocharged BMWs choose shorter oil intervals for extra protection, and our dealer-level scan tools let us reset each CBS item correctly after service.
Upon completion of the standard maintenance tasks we provide an additional 30-point inspection to make sure that all components in your BMW are up to date and working well.

At ExperTec Automotive, we’ve been repairing BMW vehicles in Orange County for over 30 years. Even well-built BMW models develop specific problems as they age, and freeway commutes on the 5, 91 and 57 and inland summer heat add to the wear. Our Anaheim technicians diagnose these issues quickly, follow BMW factory repair procedures and use quality parts you can trust.
The twin-turbo N54 in 335i, 135i and 535i models from the late 2000s is known for high-pressure fuel pump failures and leaking injectors. Symptoms include long cranks, reduced power warnings, stumbling and misfires. We check fuel rail pressures with live data, test injectors cylinder by cylinder and replace failed parts with the correct revised versions.
The twin-turbo 4.4L N63 V8 in many 550i, 750i and X5 xDrive50i models is known for heavy oil consumption, valve stem seal wear, coolant leaks and heat-related failures inside the hot-V, where the turbos sit. We measure oil consumption, check for blue smoke at startup, pressure-test the cooling system and outline repair options clearly before any major work begins.
Front control arm and thrust arm bushings on BMWs, especially 3 Series, 5 Series and X5 models, crack or soften with age. You may feel shimmy under braking, wandering at freeway speed, or hear clunks over bumps and uneven tire wear. We inspect every joint and bushing, replace worn parts with OEM-quality components and finish with a precision alignment.
Modern BMWs carry a lot of electronics and can drain batteries when modules fail to sleep. When a battery is replaced, it should also be registered with the car so the charging system adjusts to the new battery, otherwise it can be overcharged and fail early. We test for parasitic draw, install the correct AGM battery and register it with dealer-level tools.
Many BMWs use plastic expansion tanks, radiator necks and hoses, plus electric water pumps and thermostats on engines like the N52, N54 and N55. These can fail with little warning, often from roughly 60,000 to 100,000 miles, varying by model/engine. Overheating risks serious damage, so we pressure-test the system, check pump operation with dealer-level software and replace parts as a matched set.
The 2.0L N20 turbo four-cylinder used in many early-to-mid 2010s 328i, 428i, X1, X3 and Z4 models is known for timing chain guide wear that can lead to chain failure. A whining or rattling noise from the front or rear of the engine is the warning sign. We listen, scan for timing data and replace the chain and guides with updated parts.
